Sherrie, Sherrie, Quite Contrary...

...how does your garden grow??? With the help of Omi, Opa, and Lowe's of course. :)

Serioulsy, we planted our first ever garden this past weekend. It was fun, but man...Brian and Opa worked their little booties off. Caleb is super excited to see his veggies and flowers grow. He was out there talking to his sunflowers this afternoon because he saw on TV (I'm sure it was some Little Bear episode) that they would grow faster if you did this. LOL!

We have planted sunflowers (two varieties), yellow corn, strawberries, cherry tomatoes, beefsteak tomatoes, red onions, parsley, rosemary, zucchini, squash, red/yellow/green bell peppers, broccoli, red leaf lettuce, romaine lettuce, yellow onions, and carrots. Some of them were planted from plants, and some were planted from seeds. We also got a blueberry bush. I really, really hope that everything grows and is productive. We shall see...

In the meantime, here are the pictures:

Caleb raking up the weeds Caleb disposing of the weeds into the trash bag
Brian and Opa getting the ground all ready...it was a tough assignment
Caleb watering the ground once they were done tilling
This is the nest that was built in our birdhouse last spring (Opa built this birdhouse).
Caleb watering some of the plants while the garden was being prepared

Stay tuned as there will be progression photos coming...

Great looking garden. I would love to plant one but have no one to help me- the hubby so doesn't love projects like this. Plus, I may be too lazy to tend to a garden. Way to go!

Looking great!

You've certainly got better weather than what I've been getting.
