We’re getting closer and closer to finishing up first grade. We only have 3 more weeks (12 lessons) left. Here’s how this week went for us.
Math: Caleb worked on equal sets, repeated addition, and writing repeated addition equations. These were supplemental lessons, and they basically served as an introduction to multiplication.
Phonics & English: We worked on classifying, capitalization, punctuation, and dividing compound words and double consonants.
Extra Stuff: We finished up with the Littles’ Club yesterday. Caleb has enjoyed this activity, and I’m glad I had the opportunity to lead it. However, I’m looking forward to just participating next year.
Thursday, I found a cocoon on one of our Japanese Maples. I had no idea what it was, so I had to use Google to find out. Turns out…it’s a bagworm. I pulled it off the maple, and it’s now housed in our butterfly bungalow. We’re going to wait and watch to see it turn into a moth. Here are some pictures of it when it was in Caleb’s bug catcher.
As always, thanks for following our homeschool adventures. We’ll share more next week as we finish up Weeks 43-45 and tackle several field trips! So, stay tuned…
