Goals for 2015

Well, with the approach of a New Year, everyone is thinking about their resolutions or goals.  While I don’t typically set them, I thought it would be a nice change to type up my thoughts on what I’d like to change for the upcoming year.  So, here are my goals...

Find a church and get involved —We have been in Port Saint Lucie since May, and with Brian’s work schedule, it’s been tough to try to get settled into a church.  Admittedly, we haven’t even visited any.  This doesn’t mean the thought hasn’t crossed our minds a lot, because it surely has.  However, we plan to change that this year.  We are hoping to visit a church this Sunday.

Get healthier —I will focus on making better eating choices and getting more active.  It’s not that we eat a bunch of crap as it is, but there’s always room for improvement.  And it’s always a good idea to be active…whether it be walking, biking, swimming, playing outside with the boys, or other activities.

Make more digital scrapbooks — Now that all of our pictures are organized, it’s time to start putting them into digital scrapbooks/photo books.  I made and ordered one for each boy’s first year of life, and I’ve composed one for our first two years of marriage.  My goal is to do my best to get current.

Play with my children more — Yes, I play with them now, but I want to play with them more.  We’ve got tons of board games, so it’s time to put them to good use and spend time together.  This also includes outside…they like to throw footballs, frisbee, kick the soccer ball, etc…and there’s no reason I can’t join in with them.

Do a better job with housework —This one is tough…I do a decent job with the laundry and dishes, but it’s hard to stay on top of everything else.  Cleaning isn’t fun, but it has to be done.  However, I don’t want this to interfere with the previous goal…I think it’s more important to spend time with my children than to have a spotless house.  However, that doesn’t mean my house can’t be presentable on a daily basis.  If I stay on top of it, then it most definitely will.

I have some other things that I plan on working on; however, I’m not willing to share those with the general public.  I may check in from time to time throughout the year to give an update.  Hopefully they will all be positive.

Did you make any resolutions or goals for 2015?
