Week 11 of Learning 2014-15

Here’s how week 11 went…
Micah, First Grade Bible – Micah’s Bible lesson was on “My Bible Teaches Me Responsibility,” and we read 2 Kings 22:1-13; 23:1-3 to accompany his lesson.
LLATL – This week Micah worked on the new words ‘said, happy.’  He also learned about quotation marks.
Math – This week Micah worked on writing time to the hour; using greater than/less than to compare coins; understanding double facts; and number lines not beginning with 0.
History – Micah continued to learn about “God Made Many Nations.”
Science – We began our Animals study this week.  Micah learned about the world of animals, vertebrates, mammals, and mammals:  large & small.
Caleb, Sixth Grade Bible – This week Caleb’s Bible lesson was a review of all that he’s learned.
Math – Caleb completed his 5th grade math book this week by studying dividing whole numbers and decimals by 10, 100, 1000; dividing with decimals in the real world; the number line; and equations.  He will move onto the 6th grade book next week.
Reading – This week Caleb finished The Swiss Family Robinson by Johann Wyss.  He read chapters 14-16 and completed activities based on each chapter.  He also began studying for the final test over the book.
Geography – This week Caleb learned facts about Ohio.  He also took another test over the material learned thus far.
